Glenni Lorick, IBCLC

Glenni is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant living in Huntsville, AL. She has been married to Rev. Keith Lorick since 1984, and has 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Glenni attended John Brown University graduating in 1980 with a BSEd, She taught high school English for 7 years before starting her family. When her first daughter Sarah was born in Birmingham, AL, Glenni was blessed to have an amazing lactation consultant who walked her through the early breastfeeding difficulties she experienced.

Tired of grading papers until after midnight, Glenni and Keith prayed about her becoming a lactation consultant so she could help mothers like she had been helped. In 1992 they first moved to North Alabama where Keith was called to pastor a church in Madison. There Glenni began working with Reproductive Program Specialists, a group of Christian nurses who were teaching a Christian childbirth curriculum they had created. Glenni wrote a Christian breastfeeding curriculum and began the MILC (Mothers Inviting Loving Comfort) support program. In 1996 she became an IBCLC.

Shortly thereafter, Glenni and Keith and their family began a season of life on the mission field as church planters. While in Peru Glenn had the privilege of bringing the IBCLC exam to Lima. She also traveled some in the country doing breastfeeding training at hospitals.

In 2003 the Lorick family returned to North Alabama. For 3 years Glenni taught English and Spanish at a Christian school, but she missed her work with mothers and babies, so she returned to that in 2006 at A Nurturing Moment, a breastfeeding boutique in Huntsville. In 2011 Glenni bought the store, then in 2014 she began also working at a local hospital as the IBCLC. In 2020 Glenni sold A Nurturing Moment and is focused on her work at the hospital, her family, and Fed by Design. She loves sharing with women's groups about her two loves, the LORD and mothering.
